Sophie's Satan's Feast Day parade was today. They were let out of school at noon, but had to back by 1:00 in costume. This is the whole grade school, mind you. K-6. All of the kids dressed up in costume, and were lumped into either the gym or the "multi-purpose room," which we used to call the cafeteria. Parents lined the hallways, and the kids paraded around in costume, led by some drummers and girls carrying tubas without every playing them. I was unmoved, but oh, how the parents who care about such things loved it. They filmed it, took photos, smiled. I played Pandorum on my iPhone. Of course, I waved at Sophie, but I really have no interest in what other kids are doing for Halloween.
And then, wonders of wonders, my hockey team won. 3-2 over the Rangers. Get this...
in regulation! It was supposed to be the return of Marion Gaborick, whom we traded to New York this year. But, Gabby was injured (which is why we traded him), so the drama was gone. Know what? I don't care.

Pass over the middle is batted down at the line.
Life's ball. 2nd and 10 on their own 32.
