November 3rd - 23-16

This is going to be a very uneventful week. No hockey until Thursday. Typical work stuffs. I expect no big plays from life, they're just going to keep trying to grind out yards to tie it up.

My wife is pushing for a dish, though, so I guess that's worth talking about. We hadn't done it before due to her fear that it'll drop the signal during one of her shows. But the cable box upstairs crapped out, so it missed a recording. Plus, Time Warner is raising its monthly rate by $10, and increasing the amount we have to pay for each box. If we switch to dish, we'll save $50 a month for a year, then $25 a month after that.

Oh, and my insurance company wanted to drop me. Is that weird? Because of my speeding ticket 2-1/2 years ago, plus my accidents last December and in April, they decided I'm too much of a risk. Never mind the absolutely spotless record from 1991 until 2007, I guess. My agent stuck up for me, though (or so she says), against the underwriters, and managed to keep me on with a higher deductible...which will actually save me money, provided I don't crash again. "I should hope so," I told her. "If I'm forced to switch auto insurance, the home and life insurance go with me." And did you know there's now damage insurance? She wants me to pay even more to cover myself if I'm ever sued for something. What the hell's going on here?

On the bright side, with the help of our freelance developer, I was able to get my clients' online stores back on in their entirety. Killed a day and a half of work, as I don't think we can bill the client for all the time spent, but at least he's happy.

Short run.

Life's ball. 2nd and 8 on their my 49.
