June 11th - 6-13

Graduation from Safety Town. Safety Town is no longer a town. It's a class. When I went back in the mid-70s in Ashland of the Ohio, it was a fake little town. Not so in late 00s Mogadore. But Sophie learned about good and bad touch (they neglect to teach them that when you reach my age, all touches are good), about kite safety, that you should never help a stranger find his dog, to test your batteries once a month, and stuff like that. Sophie got a junior fireman's badge, which I explained to her means that if there's a fire and all the senior firemen are busy, she has to go put it out. I didn't tell her I'm joking. She didn't ask.

As with all kid events, more cake and stuff afterwards. As with all kid events, I didn't stick around. Tieraney and I took Sophie out to Pizza Hut for a celebratory lunch. Let it be known, by the way, that Pizza Hut's lasagna is better than the Olive Garden's.

I'm having trouble staying up past 10:00, by the way. I mean, I can, but it's a fight. Age? Maybe, but also that I get up at 4:45 every morning. I'm told most people don't.

Oh, and I already had my first oil change on my car. Two months, and already I'm pushing 4,000 miles. I need a job closer to home.

Run picks up the first down.

My ball: 1st and 10 on Life's 36.
