June 10th - 6-13

Sophie has graduated from day care. I bought her the same thing my parents bought me. Luggage.

That's a lie. I mean, I did get luggage from mom and dad, but that was for high school graduation. I never graduated from day care. I never went. The event consisted of the kids wearing little white gowns and handmade caps, standing on a stage, and singing day care songs. One was about an alligator eating a cocky monkey. Another was the Hokey Pokey. Now, you think that sounds dumb, but seriously, what would you have rather done at your graduation? Listened to some boring conservative political speaker tell you believe in yourself or sang songs about the brutality of nature?

There was cake and cookies and such afterwards, but I grabbed my family and headed out for Mexican afterwards. It was hot in there, Sam was getting restless, and I was getting hungry for the burrito.

Although I don't get it, I'm told this was a big day, so we'll call it a big play, too. At the very least, I'm now just a couple months away from no longer paying for day care for the girl.

My ball: 2nd and 2 on Life's 40.
