Out at the old house early in the morning to see if I let a receipt there, and there's a sign in the front yard. "I was sold by Howard Hannah!" Does the sign make it so? Is it happening? Can I get comfortable? Likely, no. Even if it goes through, it became apparent last night just how ugly the finances are going to be for a while. What a crazy loss this'll be. Crazy. I wonder if that'll help out come tax season next year.
Got the insurance money, deposited it, and turned right around and wrote the check out to Kia. It was fun to actually have money in the bank for a few hours, though.
And the guy who did our landscaping last year dumped a pile of mulch in my driveway yesterday. I mean, yeah, we asked him to, but I didn't want it this early, and not that much. Despite the dangers, I went ahead and got it in place last night. It's too early in the season, so we've got to hope there are no more frosts or my plants could be in trouble. Plus, there's a lot left, and I have no idea what to do with it. It's still sitting in my driveway, blocking my access to the garage. Maybe I can get someone to buy it from me. Or, maybe I'll try to do some landscaping around the utility boxes in the front yard. I don't know. I'm such the homeowner.
QB sneak is good for three yards and the first down.

It's bad when you have difficulty swallowing, right?
ReplyDeleteI've had a neck thing for several months and that's progressed to a swalling thing. Which could be unrelated.
Anyway, a doctor appointment has been scheduled.
Add that to the normal 24/7 schedule I've carved out for myself teaching 7 classes this term, add that to having to attend graduation yesterday (no, just because people "believe" in themselves does not mean that they will be successful) add that to my being the size of a small house -
And you have a nice booming punt from Life. All the way to my 21.
But - subtract that it's NFL draft weekend, one of my favorite weekends of the year - and that my baseball team has climbed to one under .500, and that's a solid run back to my 33. Which is where I take over here in the second quarter. Down 7-0.
