March 21st-22nd - 0-3

And so it goes with the Minnesota Wild. We get shut out one night, then turn around a post a shut-out the next game. We beat the Edmonton Oilers Sunday afternoon, 3-0. A great win for many reasons. First, Edmonton's just ahead of us in the standings, and this win chips away at the lead. Second, it saw the return of Marion Gaborik, who got no goals, but he will. And third, after getting pummeled in the first period 2 shot to 15, we turned around in the second to get a franchise record 23 shots on goal. There are games where we won't get 23 shots in three periods, so that's fairly amazing.

Sadly, the win didn't help us much in the standings. We're still tied for ninth with the Ducks (who have won three in a row to get there). We're one game behind Nashville, three behind Edmonton, and six behind Columbus. Below us, the Blues are one game back and the Stars are two games back. Freaky tight as we head to New York for back-to-back games against the Rangers and Islanders. I expect will win one (the Islanders are the single worst team in the league), and would life at least a tie in the other.

Beyond that, a decent weekend. Weather was good, so I cleaned out the cars yesterday between Appletell writing sessions. Tieraney bought the movie Twilight, which she oddly goes gaga over despite admitting that it's not very good. I guess I do the same thing with Godzilla movies, though, so I won't judge. I watched it with her, and yeah, it's pretty much godawful. Who knew a romance between a boy and girl could come across so gay? But whatever. Next weekend, the Role Models Blu-ray, and I'm really looking forward to those out-takes and deleted scenes.

Oh, and I had a dream last night in which after learning that Seahawks player Lofa Tatupu would miss the first 5-7 games due to injury, I found myself discussing shampoo dispenser technology with the Galagher brothers from Oasis.

A well covered play forces the QB to dump the ball to the TE, which doesn't get us enough for the first.

My ball: 4th and 3 on my 45.

  1. Wonderwall was a good song.

    That's all I got there.

I'm growing accustomed to the Blackberry; I have a pretty steep learning curve when it comes to new technology, this is what happens when you don't buy a computer until you turn 30 (someday, my having gone all the way through law school without having a computer will be spoken about in hushed, stunned tones, like a guy who became a concert pianist despite having no fingers, people will call me Stumpy in B Minor)but I'm figuring it out.

Additionally, one of my many ex's is posting mood updates on a social networking site that will go unmentioned; she thinks, I assume, that the sexual urban slang is going under the radar, but I'm straight gangsta, as we all know (Stumpsizzle in B Minor). I find this, eh, I don't care. Life's hard, let people do what they want. The older I get the more I want to be left alone, and the less time I have for any argument about individual behavior. Sex = have it. Drugs = take 'em. That's all and that's it.

Predictable smash up the middle to pick up 2 and the first down. I'm 1st and 10 at Life's 49 as I cross midfield for the first time as the quarter nears an end.

Now, you're just being lazy. Letting the people do what they want just never ends well for anyone.
