Okay, got home last night to a very well-behaved daughter. I asked if she got yelled at by her teacher, and she said just once because she wouldn't go to sleep. I assume there was actually no yelling involved. If a kid can't fall asleep, a kid can't fall asleep. Sophie assured me she was lying on her cot, just not sleeping, so that's good. The threat of removing that which brings her joy seems to be working. Who knew I could use the Powerpuff Girls as a bargaining device?

I came home earlier than normal last night, and plan to do so going forward. If I'm home by 7:30 instead of 8:00, that'll give me an extra half hour to get the kids to bed early and to read to them, which helps settle them down. Saturday, we're going to get Sophie a library card so she's not stuck with the same books night after night (although that actually bothers me and Tieraney more than it bothers her). Also, I bought her a new book for Valentine's Day, which is a trend we'll continue.



I should read more myself, actually, but reading makes me no money. And if my fears come to pass, this plumbing situation at the old house is going to require many moneys. We'll find out soon enough.
