January 29th - 0-0

Got home from work yesterday to a note on the kitchen counter. It's from our mailman. "Please shovel snow way from mailbox."

Know what mailman? I will. Because I'm John Henry. I'm a natural shovelin' man.

Yesterday was all about money. And me getting some back. First, there was the bank. I'd tell the whole story if it wasn't lunchtime. It is, though, so condensed. Tieraney and I overdrafted. We knew we were about to, so we wrote a credit card check to ourselves. Took five days to clear, though, so we overdrafted anyway, and were hit with eight overdraft charges of $33 each. It started at five, and we talked them down to three, then we got hit with three more. So, yesterday, I got on the phone with FirstMerit. Again, condensed. We got the additional three fees removed, FirstMerit is switching our "domicile" bank to Mogadore (which is against their standard procedure), and they'll be doing a customer service evaluation of the Ashland branch, which had been our domicile bank.

Banks fear Hiner.

In other news, CTX Mortgage, the construction loan people on our new house, gave me bad info over the phone when I called for mortgage interest amount for the tax return. We got the actual 1098 yesterday, and with the correct number, found we'd shortchanged ourselves about $1,300. Of course, I'd filed my taxes he previous. So, now we have to do an addendum. Annoying? Yes, but it's hard to be annoyed when you've found out you're getting $1,300 you weren't counting on.

I'm going to blow it all on hats.

Defensive penalty. Illegal use of hands.

1st and 10 on Life's 45.
