If something good happened one day, I made a decent play. If something bad happened, the other team made a decent play. It was all pretty simple, but never terribly interesting, and I can't even remember at this point who won or whether I ever finished it.
Now, around fifteen years later, I'm coming off what's arguably been the worst year of my life. Does life have it in for me? No. There's still plenty of good going on for me to be angry with the cosmos, but it did set me to thinking I certainly would've lost that football game had I still been doing it. Lost badly. Now, I want to see if 2009 will be any better. So, let's make it official.
January 1st was a decent enough day. I was still happy that my slumping hockey team (the Minnesota Wild) beat the best team in hockey (San Jose Sharks) the night before, and I started off the new year with some of the sweet, sweet lovin' with my wife. So, yeah, we won the kickoff, and we choose to receive.

I'll refrain from mentioning that I'm a Sharks fan. So, I guess that means I lost the toss?
ReplyDeleteExcept that USC won. And I may have taken the over, and that won.
Dude, you don't like hockey. If the Sharks are affecting your game in any way, then you're getting flagged for having too many men on the field.
